Week 6, already...

Another week, another blog post. Well not entirely true because I don't believe I've done a blog post every week, but nevertheless, onward with my Genius hour I go. This week was used to get some more research done on various essential recipes that I want to know like the back of my hand, namely, proteins. I spent my time trying to find the best recipes for roasting a chicken, and cooking a steak. The roasted chicken recipe was quite easy to find, after a simple search I was able to pull up a recipe with some great reviews and an easy to follow guide. The steak on the other hand, was quite difficult. Mostly due to the fact that there is 8 million different ways to cook a steak, and everyone swears their own way is the best. I ended up coming to the conclusion that the reverse sear method worked best for me, and found an easy recipe that taught me how to do it.

After my research was completed, I spent some more time working on my website. This has been the most fun part for me thus far in the Genius hour project. I really am enjoying the creative aspect of it and the ability I have to make it however I please. I added three more pages to my site, 2 of them being recipes and one on how to break down different produce. I have to go over the nuances of them all but nevertheless, progress was made.

Moving forward from here, I plan on researching more fun recipes, and continuing to work on my product. Also, and probably most importantly, I plan on continually practicing my newfound cooking skills and trying to master all the new knowledge I have found. Tonight I will be trying my second recipe which will be a take on a shrimp udon noodle. If all goes well, a picture will definitely be shared on my product. Wish me luck, and thanks for reading!
